Yosemite...A Backpacker is Born

Most people thought I was crazy for wanting to spend my honeymoon in the wilderness...no showering, no enjoying coctails...just us and the wilderness. Little did they know, my honeymoon changed my life.

How many beachgoing honeymooners can say the same?
And so, the adventure began.

After staying in a quaint inn at Fish Camp, we headed up the moutain to the high sierra.

Can We Get Started Anytime Soon?

It turned out we were in the wrong place. We were supposed to meet in Yosemite Valley. OOPS!
Eventually, the group made its way to Tuolumne, our starting point. We entered at the Tuolumne Trail Junction around 3:00 pm, and had about a seven mile hike with a 1500 feet gain in elevation ahead of us. The hike was supposed to begin at 11am, but Jeff and I ruined the plan by meeting in the wrong location. Once again, OOPS!

Yosemite: Day 1 (Finally...Vogelsang)

The daylight was dimming so we didn't have any time to rest. We had to get there before the sunset. Finally, though, we made it. The vigorously tiresome ascent was well worth it. We setup camp, had a fantastic dinner cooked over the camp stove, and settled in.
